Project 2: Exercises 1 Lalin 35 Second Edit

For this project we were given a short film "Lalin" to watch, thereafter we were tasked with editing and arranging several footages filmed by our seniors to match the scenes in Lalin. The final part to it was trimming the footage down to 35 seconds while also colour grading it as taught in week 7.

I start by adding all the footage on the timeline according to the example given. Soon after was trying to fit everything to just 35 seconds.

Here I learnt to add the cross dissolve effect to the male character in one shot of the scene. But this effect also came in handy in adding the fading effect of the text after its duration on screen, I just simply add it to the image tracks and input a timer of 10 seconds to all of it at the end of it.

Week 7 | Colour Grading

Before finishing up this project we had to also colour grade it which we learnt during week 7. Although I was absent I asked Sir for feedback and he advised only adjusting the black and white exposure. Making sure the blacks pop and the contrast of the scenes match each other.

Final Outcome

Overall the outcome turned out great. As a final touch I also added a music track to match the scene.
