Week 1 | Module Briefing

Editing Exercises:

For the first week we had an exercise teaching us how to use Premier Pro with a simple editing exercise. This exercise had us import a video with all their scenes jumbled up, and our task was to rearrange them in the correct order in the timeline and export the video.

The exercise was fairly simple and taught us the basic tools and how to navigate around the software.

Week 2 | Framing & Storyboard

Framing Shooting ExerciseFraming Shooting Exercise:

For this exercise we learned the various shot size that exist in film and their individual importance in them. This was the exercise that showed what we learned:

  • Shoot wide shot with wide angle.
  • The rest ZOOM IN to get soft background.
  • Refer to the examples provided or google references for GOOD composition.
  • Avoid overexposed or underexposed (too bright or too dark).
  • Do the shooting during day time.
  • Shoot landscape format video, 5 seconds per shot.
  • Edit with CAPTION (Mention the shot size).

Some key take aways from this exercise was the amount head space left from the frame we shot. So for next time, we had to be more mindful to capture the shots sharp within frame unless it's an extreme wide shot.

Week 3:

Shooting Exercise 2:

For week 3 we had a similar exercise to week 2 with some more shooting exercise, this time replicating the shots from various scenes.
